Actually, my wife has a corollary to the open door thing - she'll empty the dishwasher but leave everything out on the counters, "to get dry". I'm like "WTF?? I left all the doors open for you!"

The truth is, that little fairy doesn't say it'll fall off, but something much worse - get smaller.

I realize you're not in the direct path of Ivan but still, hope you & yours stay safe. Don't know how you folks deal with the hurricanes & rain & flooding all the time.
