Hi -
I too am unforgivably wordy, sometimes (make that often).
How about delete every other word and see how it looks?
I tried it once, and it didn't need that much re-work!

The one that seems most effective, though, is to have someone read it and redline everywhere they paused for more than two seconds (a long time when reading silently). Then go back and re-work all the redline sections.
Good luck!

Posted by Garrison Steelle at December 6, 2004 07:21 PMFor me, writing a one page synopsis was worse than writing the novel. Of course, then an agent wanted a chapter by chapter synopsis. I had to kill him and put him through a wood chipper.
