Hey someone's gotta keep an eye on ya!

Glad to hear you're okay and doing well (for the most part all things considered), however I'm sorry to hear about your family and friends in Hammond. Hope everything works out for them.

I'm so glad you're pulling through okay. It was scary for awhile there.

A friend is worried about a family with a 6-year-old child who decided to ride it out. They live in Bush, which seems to be near Covington. Was that more like you riding it out -- far enough from the water to not be as threatening? Or was this risky?

My friend is very worried and has no way to get info.

Pooks, Covington is a close suburb to New Orleans, so riding it out there would be riskier, I'm sorry to say. Luke left Hammond (which is between Baton Rouge and New Orleans) and we've been watching local newscasts broadcast from Hammond and it looks like they had a lot of wind damaga -- lots of trees down, etc. I haven't had any direct word from anyone still in Covington. If and when I do, I'll post it.
