What's a wifi?

I'm probably calling it by the wrong initials / nickname (very likely) -- but it's the wireless router for the internet that I can hook up to the main computer and then a card thingie in the PMCIA slot in the laptop also allows it to go online, wirelessly. They can then both be networked / online at the same time.

Once again, you have a computer situation without calling me first. Wireless router...been there, done that...a bunch.

Actually, I needed the disk you'd sent to load the ethernet (which now works, thanks to you) -- and I was planning on calling you tomorrow (muuaaahaaa) (you can run, but you can't hide. I assumed at first the problem was the ethernet, so waited to try again today... but it's definitely something in the installation sequence.
