Everything you posted about parenthood is so true. Now just imagine all the good parts without any of the bad and you know what being a grandparent is like. I almost cried the other day when my little grandson (19 mos.) reached up to hold my hand before crossing the street! The trust is so pure and given freely, it breaks your heart to know that it will not always be so.

Mmm. Sounds lovely. I look forward (though still in an abstract way) to being part of a new person's life as grandparent. I don't know why, but I feel sure Damian will have kids too.
